Build on Your Lot

Build on Your Lot or Ours, and Make it Your Own!

As a local, family-owned builder, Lexor has the flexibility to build your home on your land or lot. The process is similar to buying a home in one of our existing neighborhoods, but with a few important differences. Here are some of the steps to building a home on your land:

Plan Your Budget

Begin now to think about how much you can afford to spend. It’s not too early to consult with a professional home mortgage lender to find out the amount of new home loan for which you can qualify.

Loan Application

It’s now time to make an appointment with your home mortgage lender. Be sure to bring the following documentation:

  • W-2 forms
  • Social security numbers for each applicant
  • Tax returns for past two years
  • Last month’s paycheck stubs
  • Last three month’s checking and savings account statements
  • Information on all open credit accounts for all applicants

Choose Your Lot

Whether you are building your home in a suburban community or a site with sweeping hill country views, you will need to choose the land before you select floor plans. If your land or lot is outside of a developed community, you may need professional services for evaluating soil condition, drainage, zoning, area building codes, and other related services.

Let Lexor Homes Organize Your Team

You’ll need a team of experts to design and build your house. Lexor Homes has assembled an extremely talented team of designers, architects, construction craftsmen, and independent inspection consultants to help turn your dream home into reality.

Pick a Plan

Lexor Homes can build according to your plans, our plans, or a combination of the two. Lexor will assist you in creating a plan that is a personal reflection of you, and is specifically designed for your family and budget. Lexor’s experienced staff will take you from the loan approval process through your move-in and beyond. We will assist and inform you, but we want you to be in control so you can make the very best decisions for you and your family.

Reserve your Home with a Contract and Earnest Money

You’ll feel secure with your written agreement, a contract, including the designs and features to be included in the house. An earnest money deposit is required before beginning construction.

Watch Your Home Transform from Concept to Reality

At this point construction begins. A superintendent will oversee the construction process from start to finish. The managing superintendent, city inspectors and third-party inspectors will continually inspect your home for proper construction methods and code compliance. Lexor Homes Energy Star certification and quality construction will win your respect and trust.
When your home is completed, it will have passed multiple inspections, including your own. When construction is finished, your managing superintendent will walk you through your new home orientation to introduce you to every part of your new home.

Closing

Following your orientation, a closing date will be set at the title company. The title company officer will review the closing documents with you. Once the documents are signed and the loan is funded, the keys to your new Lexor Home will be yours!

Move In

At closing you will receive a detailed warranty booklet explaining our Ten Year Homeowner’s Warranty. Our Customer Care team stands ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your new home. Many satisfied homebuyers comment not only on the quality construction and appeal of their new Lexor Home, but also on the ease of the home buying process.
